Change of Minimum Score Requirement for CEF

We have been advised by the Office of Continuing Education Fund, that the minimum benchmark requirement for a student to make a reimbursement claim in respect of English reimbursable courses under the Continuing Education Fund (CEF), has been changed.

With effect from Feb 1 2006, the overall score requirement has been increased from 20 (Pre-1 Level) to an overall score of 26 (1-Low Level).

Therefore, students who submitted the required documents for claiming CEF and all documents are to be received at the CEF office before Feb 1, the overall score 20 (Pre-1 Level) remains unchanged, and will be the passing mark. However, if all documents received by CEF office on or after Feb 1, an overall score of 26 (1-Low Level) has to be attained.

Signal hoisted before class Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above; Black Rainstorm Signal; Announcement made by Hong Kong Observatory that it is likely to be hoisted within next two hours.
Still hoisted at 06:00 a.m.	All day classes from 09:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. will be cancelled
Still hoisted at 10:00 a.m.	All afternoon classes from 14:00 p.m. to 18:00 p.m. will be cancelled
Still hoisted at 13:00 p.m.	All evening classes from 18:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m. will be cancelled
Signal hoisted during class
Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted	All classes will be terminated immediately
Announcement made by Hong Kong Observatory that Typhoon Signal No. 8 is likely to be hoisted within next two hours	All classes will be continued until signal hoisted
Black Rainstorm signal is hoisted	All classes will be continued
Signal lowered from Typhoon Signal No. 8; Black Rainstorm Signal.
Lowered before 06:00 a.m.	All classes from 09:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. will be held as scheduled
Lowered before 10:00 a.m.	All classes from 14:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m. will be held as scheduled
Lowered before 13:00 p.m.	All classes from 18:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m. will be held as scheduled

Remarks:

ESL students are required to enroll again for those cancelled classes.
Students taking I.T. Fixed Schedule Classes will be informed of the reschedule arrangement.
